    adb push question

I am trying to push a file using adb, but have not had to run that command in quite a while now. To cd into my tools directory, the command is (I'm on a Mac):

    cd /Users/JHGodwin/Desktop/androidfolder/tools/

What would the command be to push a file within that tools folder (in bold above) to the system/bin (or xbin) folder on the Droid?

    adb push ./filename /system/xbin/

To go to /system though, then it needs to be in rw mode...if you are using a newer Sholes ROM, you can just do adb remount first and then the above command.

Ah ha! I was leaving out the ./ in front of the filename. Thank you!

Does anyone know if doing a wipe and clean install of ROMS deletes files in the system/xbin folders? Is there any way to see if the file I am looking for is still there?

Anything in /system will disappear. You can adb shell to your phone and then do:

    cd /system/xbin
    ls

That will spit out a directory listing of everything in the /system/xbin directory.

    OK, after running this:

    Hank-local-3:~ JHGodwin$ cd /Users/JHGodwin/Desktop/androidfolder/tools/
    Hank-local-3:tools JHGodwin$ ./adb shell

    I am getting this: sh-4.1#

What is that? I used to get the $ sign after running ./adb shell.

OK, I think I need to reflash the flash_image file. Do I need to put this in the root of my sdcard to push it?
