What you are asking has been covered in several of the links in the how too thread stickied at the top of this forum. There is a "tutorial" on recovery and adb. You even get to see some of my early bonehead learning questions. It has taken me months of following along from day one to understand everything, perhaps you are smarter than me and will get it quicker, but there is no easy way in one thread (this thread) to get you through all of this.
I have my phone set to 800 right now, and while things are faster, this hack will not change your world, I promise. Please take her slow, and sprecovery is the foundation of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you will do in the future.
Well I guess it's cool and all that they've managed to overclock the processor, but I see a few problems. First is design. Motorola designed the droid to dissipate a certain amount of heat and be able to properly function. I don't know what that limit is but running at such high overclocks compared to stock seems fairly dangerous.
Second problem is battery life. Having on the fly under / overclock is nice, but if your cpu is pushing up to 1ghz when you're doing anything that even remotely needs to really use the processor I hope you're plugged into the wall.
Not knocking the achievement, getting just as fast of a clock as the new snap dragons is quite the accomplishment. Just hope people realize how potentially damaging it could be to the device and you better know you won't be covered under warranty or insurance since you did it on purpose. People also already complain about battery life as it is so really this is just a novelty unless you want to stay plugged into the wall 24/7.
Got wifi working by formatting data and doing clean install no data restored.
And my experiance with ocing for the past 8-10 yrs is that u just have to be smart i set mine to 250mhz when asleep and while charging and when battery drops below 30% so really will only be at 800mhz when in use.
It is VERY noticable going from 550 to 800mhz
