Smile [Q] How do you root Thunderbolt without losing data

I was wondering if there is a way to root the HTC Thunderbolt without losing app data? I personally don't mind the fresh start, but my buddy who I am going to help root for, doesn't want to lose his precious Angry Birds/Fruit Ninja scores.

    Any help would be appreciated.
