Geez, I haven't even done mine.. I have the HTC incredible now... but its according to which rom you are running as to how liberal it is in overclocking.
I don't think this will brick your phone.. either it will get hot and lock or it won't because you are within tolerance of heat limits..
someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but thats generally the way it is for overclocking.
Hopefully you don't corrupt your software however when it locks as things in cache etc gets lost when that happens.

Overclocking is a neat thing. I have tried up to 1.25 but it was different. So I hit 1.1 and like it there.
I keep an eye on my temp for a while but now no need.
I balance the battery life by using SetCPU and have it downclock to 250/550max when the phone is asleep. I also only use 1ghz until the battery gets to 70%, then I have it start to step down. At 30% it goes to stock speed and the power saving governor.
The goal is to find just how much I can get out of the phone and make it last an entire typical day.
