    I remember a post in one of the many v6 threads around about adding something in the local.prop to make browser scrolling smoother. I'm on miui and web browsing is horrible. The Rom comes packaged with v6 multitask setting packaged.

    Any thoughts to help the lag when browsing the web?

    Another one is the 3g speed boost tweak.

    Awhile ago I had used 3g speed tweaks using build.prop.
    Tonight I've been messing with 3g tweaks again and it actually works when using local.prop too...

    So... if you want to play...

    Install the speedtest.net app and do a few test runs...

    Maybe browse a few web pages and see how quick they load...

    Then put this in local.prop (with a blank line at the end....)

    ro.ril.hsxpa=3
    ro.ril.gprsclass=12
    ro.ril.hep=1
    ro.ril.enable.dtm=1
    ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
    ro.ril.enable.a53=1
    ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1
    ro.ril.htcmaskw1.bitmask = 4294967295
    ro.ril.htcmaskw1 = 14449
    ro.ril.hsupa.category = 9

    reboot and run speedtest again a few times... load some web pages...

    If it works as good for you guys as it does on my phone I'll put in V8[/quote]

    Your right about the blank line at the end, but I'm not sure about before, haven't tried it yet as I use wifi most of the time

    Zeppelinrox, how does your 3g tweak work anyway? Does it just take out a 3g limitation built into the phone or does it trick the network into thinking the phone is actually another, "more capable" phone?

    Droid RZR!
    I've tried the 3G.zip that was out with no luck. I don't even know where to begin using the method above.
    I finally replaced the OG with a brand new white RZR!!

    Its the same thing, someone just simplified it into a zip file...however I will vouch for Zeppelin's method here, definitely works

    Yeah the zip file for some reason just failes to work. It just aborts and will not install. Who knows.

    This is outdated but it was the big data throttling hack that was popular for awhile

    wow... and people say my instructions are confusing :P

    Well, it's not "mine" per se As far as I can tell, most phones aren't configured correctly to their ISP settings.
    It's hard to even find the information to configure it.

    So me being the hack that I am, just put the maximum levels :P
    Nothing fancy, just throwing enough shat at the wall and hoping something sticks

    From what I've read, the only possible downside is that battery may take a bit of a hit.

    Copy and paste this as a new script in script manager and run it as root... it will put all the entries into data/local.prop.
    Then reboot.
    Code:
    #!/system/bin/sh
    mount -o remount,rw /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock6 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock7 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock8 /system; mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock9 /system
    cat >> /data/local.prop <<EOF
    ro.ril.hsxpa=3
    ro.ril.gprsclass=12
    ro.ril.hep=1
    ro.ril.enable.dtm=1
    ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
    ro.ril.enable.a53=1
    ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1
    ro.ril.htcmaskw1.bitmask = 4294967295
    ro.ril.htcmaskw1 = 14449
    ro.ril.hsupa.category = 9
    EOF
