-Had stock Droid1 w/ FRG83D rooted by Superoneclick v1.7 (straight from shortfuse.org)
-Got notification of OTA FRG83G update this morning
-Unrooted with Superoneclick v1.7 without a problem
-Restarted phone and got notification for OTA again. I hit "install now", phone rebooted, phone showing Android v2.2.2/FRG83G in "Settings/About phone".
-Rooted again with Superoneclick v1.7 without a problem
-Rebooted and verified that Wireless Tether works (it does)
-I don't really notice any speed difference (good or bad)
...actually I take that last statement back. It seems going back to homescreen is a bit quicker now.
I woke up to the OTA update notice today. I was searching all over to see what the word was about accepting it and breaking root / re-rooting. After reading this thread, I accepted the update without unrooting and then re-rooted using superoneclick. All is fine and I'm rocking 2.2.2 update. This is my first post. I've been lurking here and have learned a lot and I thought I'd share this for anyone else out there in the same boat.
OG Droid, unlocked, stock and overclocked.
I had a manually rooted OG Droid. After a week of clicking "Install Later" I finally accepted the update today and after it rebooted I'm still on 83D and it's stopped nagging me. I'm still rooted also.
What's going on ?
