I rooted my phone (Motorola Droid) and was able to get WiFi tethering working great. I was running Android version 2.2.1.
Then I installed ROM Manager and then choose Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery and it installed successfully. I made a backup of my current ROM and then downloaded the most recent cyanogenmod version through ROM Manager and then tried to install it. I got the exclamation mark splash screen and nothing ever happened.
I ended up rebooting my phone and tried various things. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think I rebooted to the recovery menu and tried to do the "apply sd card update.zip" but I got an error. I ended up doing a "wipe data/factor reset" and it cleared everything back to an almost stock android.
1)The phone is still rooted and the "superuser" application is installed.
2)I was going to download ROM Manager and restore my ROM backup but everytime I open the market it crashes immediately.
3)I tried downloading the cyanogenmod from my computer and copying update.zip to the root of my SD Card. When I go into recovery and choose "apply sd card update.zip" I get an error that says "E:signature verification failed"
Can someone PLEASE help me fix my phone?
