You have a U: drive?? Crazy! Just type "c:" and press enter. You can do it before or after typing "cd c:\android\tools", but it's probably more intuitive to do it before so that you can see the result as you cd to the tools directory.
hey im a noob at this custom boot animation stuff to. i get to the android folder on my c drive and i entered in the code. then it says daemon started successfully and under that it says error device not found? what is the problem?thanks
If you've already rooted your Droid, then the easiest way I found to load custom boot anims is via Root Explorer.
get a custom boot anim.
rename the zip to bootanimation.zip
mount the sd card
place the renamed zip onto the sdcard's top directory
load root explorer
navigate to /sdcard and find bootanimation.zip
long press to copy it
navigate to system/media
select mount r/w
select mount r/o
Exit root explorer and reboot. Works for me.
OR you can push your boot animation to /data/local/ using terminal but thats the longest most involved way to do it.
