So i rooted my phone and installed a wireless tethering app for rooted phones and it was working fine for a few hours but then all of the sudden it stopped and it wont up load or download. I use this for work and i really need it for the morning. also something that might be causing this issue is in the when i turn the tethering on it says turned on but erros exsist go to "show log" for more info...so i go there and it says Enabling access control....failed i am so frustrated with this right now! any help is appreciated thanks.

These settings are old but still work

My settings for WiFi tether are...uncheck use Bluetooth, check Enable WiFi Encryption, set up a passphrase (make sure it is 13 characters), change the SSID or leave it default (I left it default), Change channel to 07, power mode active, enable access control unchecked (my preference), change LAN first option, everything else left it the way it was.

i always disable "access control." also, in the Setup menu, did you change the SSID network name? it is automatically named "AndroidTether", but you need to rename it.

if those don't work, you may need to try a different kernel.

Same here!! Also +1 to Husker's suggestion of a different kernel.

you can find dl links for Slayher's kernels in the Liquid section of the forum. I think Chevy's kernels can be found in his section; and they can certainly be found on his website. P3Droid's kernel links can be found over at MyDroidWorld, or thru Rom Mgr. There are also other kernel choices thru RM.
