    Question sd card problems... HELP!

    greetings fellow droidians,
I am insure weather this is the right place to post thise thread but I am having a problem with my sd card its saying it is damaged, is there any way to "fix" it ( other than formating)??? and if I do format it, what will happen to all the apps I have on the sd card? Do I have to go ahead and re-download the apps and such for them to work?

A reformat is the only way to go - you can connect the SD card to a computer via a card reader and copy the contents then format the card using your Droid and then copy your contents back to the card - or just format the card and lose all of your files, either way it will have to be done

One other thing I've had success with before going so far as to reformat is to run error checking on the file system on the card. This has fixed several problems for me that were causing the card not to be recognized on my D2. Plug the card into a USB adatpter and connect it to a computer. Under Windows, you should be able to right click on the drive under file explorer, select Properties, then in the resulting window, under the Tools tab, click "Check Now...". Check "Automatically fix file system errors" and hit Start. Under Linux, use the appropriate flavor of fsck.
