    droid slider

my slider on the droid is starting to feel odd. It seems to be getting sticky. Has anyone else ran into problems with this?

yeah its definitely not a seemless slide for me, it usually feels sticky/stuck just as it gets halfway up the keyboard then it releases and goes smooth. I took off the plastic that came on the back of the phone and that made it SLIGHTLY better but not by much....almost feels like the slide brackets just need a little WD40 or something....

haha not that I will do ANYTHING of that nature but you know

the plastic on the back of the screen is meant to come off. It was just there for packaging purposes. You do notice that once it's off it's easier to slide, but in no way at all is it "loose".

Hey didnt want to make a new thread for this, but got a question. Im pretty sure some juice got behind the slider. now that its dry it is REALY sticky and very hard to slide. Is there anyway to clean it? Any Suggestions? Id like to be able to remove the Top of the phone and clean it, but i am not sure. Thanks to any ideas.

I find the keyboard slider needs to be broken in. It wasn't so smooth went I first had the Droid a month ago, but over time its now quite smooth

could slide an alcohol pad down there and use some tweezers to help it out.

Yeah i was looking at that but it looks very narrow. I tried putting a drop of water with the battery out, sliding it back and forth, then wiping and seeing if it would clear. But not, Just as sticky lol. hmm im gonna try the alch pad now.

Also, I am trying to find out of you can just remove the slider without disasembling the whole thing. Any Thoughts?

Edit - Did the best i can with the alchohol pad, still really sticky, almost takes two hands to open

A very small amount of Coke got into my phone last night. The slider was down right terrible, i had to use much force just to open and close it. I thought, well im boned. I work at an Apple Repair Shop, took a very slightly damp alcohol pad and cleaned the keyboard, slider sides on the keyboard, and the entire back of the screen/slider itself. it is now sliding better than ever, so anyone else who is reading this give that a shot. my @$$ is saved

my slider has not had anything spilled on it. yet I have to use 2 hands to slide it open a thumb on each corner and I have no problem with this. do other DROID sliders just move by looking at it?
