so ive noticed when im tethering that if i my thing says im goiing over 2mb/s the 3g starts to turn off and on unless i stop tethering. anyone else having this problem? and if so is there a way to fix it?

Sounds like you're being throttled by the tower. This is one of the techniques Verizon uses to load balance and keep any one user from pulling all of the bandwidth on the tower.
There's nothing you can do about it, sorry.
