    Upgrade Ready, Should I wait?

I have an upgrade ready for Verizon and I am interested in going with an Android OS phone. The Droid X looked pretty appealing from the research i've done, but my question is upgrade now, or stick it out to Christmas time? Are there any new phones that look amazing that are worth waiting for?

This is tough....the X is nice....my wifes got one.....I'm still rocking the D1 though. I did read LG will release a dual processor android phone before the end of the year, and there is Moto's dual core coming early next year as well. Tough time to have an upgrade hanging in front of you.

    Sent from somewhere...

There's always something new around the corner, it's just part of the game. I think this is a call you're going to have to make for yourself.

Yea, I have been up in the air the past couple days. Im still on an old LG voyager, looking for something new, but I don't want it to be obsolete too soon. I saw the thread on the end of life for the last wave of Android phones and it seemed decently soon =/

I think Ltken is right! its entirely up to you. IMO if your coming from the lg voyager the DX will give you plenty to learn and will probably keep you happy for a while. just my .02

Yea I moved from the LG Voyager to the D1.

My answer is sorta like this:

Want a pull out keyboard: Droid 2
Don't want a pull out keyboard: Droid X

That's my opinion. I went with the D1 instead of the INcredible because of the keyboard, but my fiancée loves her incredible because it doesn't have a KB.

You could upgrade to a Droid X, 2, etc., and it will cost you $200 plus forfeiting the ability to upgrade again for another 20 months, plus extending your contract for two more years. Or you could get a Droid 1 off eBay for around $175, and still retain your option to upgrade later, and not extend your contract.

There will always be a new device coming out... there are some great ones out now.

Myself, I'm waiting until LTE devices come out before I bother with an upgrade.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I was torn between keeping my D1 until mid-next year, holding my upgrade in November, and making the switch. Lucky for me, I just got bumped up to a D2 through a factory warranty, so I'm definitely holding off until middle-late next year to get an LTE device.
