A while back I dropped my Droid (the regular Motorola Droid), sending it sliding across an asphalt driveway & creating a pretty deep scratch in the screen. Just today it ended up shattering completely. The phone is still usable, touch screen and all, because it is just the glass that is on top of the screen that is broken i guess. That being said, I don't want to keep using or trying to look through the shattered glass to use my phone, and I can't get a new one right now. (Though the phone is insured, they want to send me the Devour which I don't want to have to deal with--I want the Droid or Droid 2). Can I remove the broken glass screen piece by piece and continue to use the touch screen by making contact with the real screen underneath it? Is that possible and if so is that a bad idea for a temporary fix until I can afford a new Droid again?
