Is 30% battery life a magic number?

It seems my browser and navigation apps quit working when the battery level reaches 30%. Is there an option to change this?

That sounds like some program you have doing that. Some battery saving app that may kill data and gps connections when you hit a certain percentage of battery. Juice Defender/Ultimate juice or something along those lines would be my guess.
