Fine-Tuning Email

I got my droid today. Great phone. I am not crazy about the email application being light letters and dark bacground in the list of email messages. I am old school and much prefer the white background when looking at my list. Plus it is sometimes difficult for me to tell what messges are unread... Does anyone know of ANY way of changing the color scheme in the email list area? This isnt a deal breaker, but I am colorblind and it makes it difficult to see at times.
