Getting Droid replaced
I was never able to root my phone because I updated it to 2.1 before I knew what rooting was and I was never able to flash mine back.
Now my droid has been having issues (it's been clicking things on its own, sliding things for reason) and it's been replaced. Will it still be 2.0 to where i can root it finally, do you think?

If it's the Moto Droid, it will come with 2.1.
Here is a great guide to rooting the 2.1 and installing a 2.2 ROM with root.

Here's the thing. You don't have to go back to 2.0.1 to get Froyo. Froyo will actually root your Droid.
I did it by using SPRecovery and when you install 2.2 it will root your Droid at that time.
