    Backing up everything?

I am going to have to send my Droid in for a replacement.

1.) How do you back up everything including contacts, settings, applications (including paid apps), emails, etc?

2.) How do you copy all of this from one Droid or another Android device by a separate hardware manufacturer?

    Thanks.

Wouldn't you want "back up my settings" box checked to back up settings? Where does this back up to?

because your contacts are all on gmail, cloud et al, they are already backed up, you will just need to login. when you log in to the market it will download all of your paid apps (ive already reset my phone to factory, def don't have to pay again)

local settings won't be saved, like merging contacts, app settings, .. pretty much everything other than contact list and app list
i've heard of g-contact , app to backup other stuff, but i havent tried it

I had to do a hard reset on mine and what the above poster says is true. All I did was log into my gmail and everything was reloaded, even my wallpaper.

All I had to do was set up my desktop and widgets and it was just like it was before the hard reset.

So it saves your wallpaper but not how you customize the location where you place the apps on each screen or widgets?

Are there things that still need to be backed up? Like pictures/videos, SMS/MMS, etc?

Wouldn't a lot of the data be saved on the memory card and not the phones internal memory?
