Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Callers complaining that they hear themselves. Never had this problem until I purchased my Droid.

Yes, I too have experienced this. The first two days I had my Droid, my best friend whom I always call, said she heard the worst echo whenever she called me. But I powered my Droid down completely and then back on, called her, and it hasn't happened since. Have you tried that?
This is a known issue and will be addressed in the coming updates according to Motorola and Verizon. I can't remember but I think people say that if you turn the speakerphone on and off it'll fix it for a time. That and cycling the power on the phone.
My friend just complained about it yesterday to me. Hopefully it gets fixed soon
yes, even soft booted it and it still happens. I will do it again. Thanks!
Thanks TomN, I'll keep that in mind. Other than that...awesome phone!
One other thing you can try is to change the EVRC settings in the programing menu to EVRC-B. I believe there is a thread here already on how to do it... I will look for it. But in short from your dial pad enter ##program and press send. For the security code enter 000000. Choose the forth option "vocode" and change to EVRC-B. *note* not all areas of the country run on EVRC-B. If you change this setting and cannot make calls try to change it to 13K. This will improve the call quility for the user on the other end of the call.

Also don't mess with other settings in the programing menu...if you don't know what your doing in there you can and will fubar your phone! I'm just saying...

Don't you guys think that this is such a HUGE issue for many of us that Google/Motorola should come out with a hotpatch as oppose to a general Dec. 11 patch? I work for a software company and if we had an issue like this a hotpatch would be immediately released provided proper Dev and QA. Just odd that they haven't come out with a patch sooner for this particular issue. Just my thoughts....
Thanks for the info Joe...I will get right on it and let you know what happens...
