charging port on droid

would like to know if anyone else here has hadthis problem

in the port for the micro usb the right half got bent down some how and now the charger doesnt fully stay in ill post a picture in a little bit

You could CAREFULLY try bending it back in place with the pointy end of a thumbtack or something but if it's out of your hands then it's probably best to take it to the store and see about a replacement. If it's not broken, then it can be fixed; just don't break it.

i dont have the money to get a replacement and i would prefer not to have to go through the trouble of downgrading from 2.1 to 2.0.1 to root

If you get it replaced under warranty there shouldn't be any cost. If you have to use the insurance there will be.

Just saw your thread before I saw this mine did and now it looks normal after I bent it back but it still hangs out

I have a similiar problem with my Droid. The Verizon store has been totally useless. They just want to sell me another phone. I had been able to get the phone to still charge until today, but it will not charge at all now. I think this is a design flaw in the Droid and there are discussiions about it on both this forum and the Motorola forum.
