Music player doesnt go through speakerphone

why will the media player on my droid not play anything through the speakerphone unless i make a phone call then push the speakerphone button then hang up. but as soon as i get a text message or it moves to the next song, the music stops playing through the speaker phone. is there a widget that i can install that allows me to switch it between speakerphone on and off??? what about inside of the media player, because i have looked to see if the music player will switch to speakerphone but i have gotten nothing.

Sounds (no pun inteneded) like you might have some kind of app conflict.

Kill all apps running in the background, and see what happens.

It made a huge difference when I restarted my phone

There has been a known issue of DROIDs randomly not sending sound through the speakerphone, for now just restart the phone whenever it happens.

EDIT: Also if you want to force the phone to speaker phone when you make a call, there are apps in the marketplace that can do that. I can't remember what they're called but it shouldn't be too hard to find them.
