Try going into the Market and downloading GDocs. It is the mobile version of the online Google Documents. I believe that it handles all of the Microsoft formats.

Gdocs is installed but quickoffice is trying to open it. I checked the defaults and quickoffice has no defaults set.

    Thumbs down

    My mistake.

I just sent myself a test XLSX file that opened just fine in QuickSheet but there is no way to save it that I can see.

    What a bummer!

Docs2Go does open the file but the free version does not let you save it. You have to spring for the $10 version to get that and other functionality. Not a bad price if you need it on your phone. When I need to D/L files, I use one of many computer that I have access to. Droid is still mainly a phone for me.
