    How do you update and how often should you update this phone?

    You must be getting the Over The Air (OTA) update for 2.0.1 for your new Droid. This is automatic from Verizon. We are all waiting for the next update. Unless you decide to go the ROM route.

    If you are staying stock and not messing with root. The phone will let you know when there is an update to install.
