Why is 3G so slow? *Pics Inside**

I have tethered my laptop with PdaNet for a few days was was doing some speed tests and they are not so speedy!

Why is that?

ALSO: Will Verizon charge you more when you tether? The Droid does have unlimited but you never know.

Teathering is a feature on the Droid or any other phone that you get through verizon and the charge for the feature is 30 to 60 dollars for having it on your plan.

You mean by using PdaNet to tether they will charge me $30.00 a month extra?

Don't use an extravagant amount of data per month and you'll probably go undetected. No guarantees though. As they say, use at your own risk.

Add it on to your plan. They deffinately can tell by your data usage. I have seen it happen.

The problem as it stands right now is that I don't believe there is an official tethering plan for the Droid, so it can't be added.

To the OP - how are you tethering ?? USB or Bluetooth ? I got great results with PDANet last week (able to watch a complete hour of House on Hulu).

I don't tether much, only if I'm in an area with no WiFi and need to do something on my laptop.

You know you may be right about that.. I can't check if it can be added to my phone because I can't change or add features to my account. But you may just be right. I try to talk people out of teathering and into data cards all the time so IDRK but they can see the data usage and compare to the general population. They see everything.......:icon_eek:
