Honestly screen size and inability to use widgets is what turns me off the iPhone. I couldn't imagine having to go to settings every time I turned wifi or bluetooth on and off after it being one tap away for so long. And the screen just isn't big enough. That and apples insane choke hold over everything they make.

I spent a lil time with the iPhone 4 last year.

One reason might be is not having to worry about researching for the best Android phones(s) for the best experience. Not worrying about OS updates. Get the "wrong" Android phone ......the experience and OS updates might frustrate you.

Apple puts a priority on looks too for apps.

    The look of the iPhone.

    Accessories.

Bad experiences with their last Android phone(s)

Me...I heard the iPhone 4S has nice reception. Hopefully that means they fixed Antenna Gate. And that would be one reason for me to look at the iPhone 4S and later iPhones.

As far as tinkering for Android and just working for the iPhone...I say this so many times..... My ex GF...this is her daily use of my Droid X1 and RAZR:

Youtube app, browsing, texting, calls, games, music player...GPS when she needs it. She just started going to the Market and Amazon Market recently. She didnt know how to set alarms on my RAZR. I told her to go to screen with the the time that had the Christmas background and click on the time (it was Beautiful Widgets with a Christmas theme) She surprised me...by sticking the Alarm icon on a home screen. She she took it upon herself to look in my app drawer, find it and place it out there.

Android can be as easy, simple or as complex as you want it to be. And there are enough troubleshooting forums for the iPhone to say that in reality...it doesnt just work. Its like any smartphone. It might do some things better than other phones...but it does has hiccups too. Co worker was showing us his kids school play...his iPhone 4 froze. Someone eventually helped him get back to the home screen. I always remind myself of that when I hear the iPhone "just works", never reboots, never freezes, etc.

FWIW...my RAZR froze once so far and had to be reset. I was using an off brand car charger and trying to use the phone in the car while it was charging. My DX1 went thru some freezes and reboots as time went on....but the first months were stellar. Freezes and reboots on my DX1 went hand in hand.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

I've got both the Nexus and the iPhone 4s, and have been back and forth more times that I want to count. But, now that the Nexus is out, I've finally got an Android phone I can live with again. Everything Verizon offered in between the Nexus and the Droid 1 were crap IMO. Way too much massaging by the manufacturers and way too glitchy. That's what sent me to the iPhone in the first place. I don't root nor install custom ROMs. I want a phone that functions well "out of the box".

I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.

My only experience with ios has been an iPad 1. It crashes at least once a day. My Incredible has been stable since Aug 2010 and i can count the number of crashes and freezes on 1 hand.
Honestly i think comparing an og Droid to an iPhone 4 (or 4s) is like comparing an iPhone 1 to a Droid X, Incredible 1, etc. Android has come a long way since its inception, just like ios.

Is it everyone's opinion that the Nexus will need to be "tinkered" with to resolve some of the major current bugs or do you think Google will push out updates fast enough?

there's also the people that fit into my category....

i was using a iphone 4 but just upgraded to a iPhone 4S as a daily driver because i don't have time to tinker or mess with my phone during the day and i need something reliable with a good battery life as well as being a solid enterprise device. I get and receive well over 150 calls a day using about 6000 minutes a month. I send/receive anywhere from 50-200 emails a day. and all this is just during my 10 hour work day Monday - Friday.

I was given two options from work they were going to issue me a company blackberry or i could get an iphone on my own and the company will cover the bill... I refused to go back to blackberry so i went with an iphone. Our IT dept used to allow us to use android but they became to be too much of a problem with reliability and the lack of a good enterprise solution made them decide to not allow them at all anymore.

i still use and develop for android but just use an iphone as my daily driver/work phone. I'm not going to list any names but i know several big android developers that use an iPhone on a daily basis for the same exact reasons.

im not biased towards one or the other they both have pro's and con's and there is no such thing as one being better then the other...
