    I think it's a combination of things.

An iPhone comes out of the box ready to do pretty much everything its users want, where an Android phone may need to be played with to get it quite right.

Apple makes 1 phone, and from the outside all iPhones are the same. This means the aftermarket accessory support is HUGE. I'm constantly frustrated at seeing the selection of i-compatible gadgets at stores.

And it really is just ease. Android had a handful of manufacturers making how many different phones, and yes; often they would rather move on to the next model than fix and tweak issues with the current (some exceptions).

I love my DroidX, and I can proudly say I will never own an iPhone. I don't begrudge anyone who does, you simply want it easier. But I'll stick with what I really believe is the superior phone.

Maybe some of them bought an Andriod phone for their first phone, and didn't like it just enough to see if the grass was greener on the other side. I thought about trying MIUI because it is said to be "iOS like". That is about a curious as I've been. I think most people want in a phone what they want in a lot of other things. Reliability, and simplicity. Android does have quite a lot of models to choose from. A lot of people at the factory ask me what kind of Android they should get. Nobody ever asked me that about an Apple phone.

I believe it is just your common trends, and fickle consumers wanting to try something new. There are probably an equal amount of people going the opposite way, wanting to try out the Droid world.

After a Droid, x2 and thunderbolt I plan on getting an iPhone 5.

I'm over the rooting and rommig thing. I'm tired of waiting for postponed to death updates, somewhat glitchy software, having to comb the market to find a good app, skins, fragmentation, etc..

I like apples accessories aand integration. I like that all the phones aare ready put of the box, I don't have to root, rom and overclock to get rid of pesky bugs. I like apples apps and games.

Most of all I just want to change it up. I still love android, and my current phone, but I'm just ready for something different than my norm. I'm sure after a couple years of iPhone ill be back to android

In simple terms cause I don't feel like elaborating, it's a less fragmented OS and everything just seems to work.

The handset quality is great on the iPhone. My abused first gen ipod Touch, that I preordered before it came out, is in better shape than my X. The software is gimped but less fragmented. All in all, I'd rather have my X, but if Apple made a 4.3" + phone with Android, I know what I would buy.

Some have switched from Android. There's also the reverse. I don't see any evidence or indication there's been substantial switching either way, and it makes sense. Particularly for the IPhone, switching can be expensive with a lot of sunk costs in apps, not to mention ITunes.

IOS market share has been mostly flat, while Android continues to grow. That pretty much tells you everything you need to know. Maybe a lot is the choice in design and screen size, but that would just confirm how marginal difference in the OS are.

I have an IPad2...I'd say it's 20% overrated and 80% marketing. I don't prefer it in the slightest over Android, on the contrary I'd go into my pocket for an Android tablet if I really had any need for a tablet.
