Carrier IQ?!?!?!? what does this mean for us?

More on Carrier IQ | xda-developers

above is an article on carrier IQ and what it is BUT what does it mean for us rooted users? are we free of this exposure? because me personally i like my privacy and NOT want verizon etc. knowing everything about me and yes i know it says i can opt out but they will still collect information without your knowledge. So my question is, is there a way we can keep them from collecting information?

If your rooted you can remove it. No big deal if your rooted, its the nonrooted phones that need to watch out.

If you've watched the video he created, its quite impressive, and by impressive, I mean terrifying.

He is only using an HTC Evo 4G in the video, but he doesn't go much into anything about other android phones.

Its like admin privledges in windows. Rooted just means you can get past the superficial wall and look at the meat and bones of the OS.

The real question is, should I keep my phone unrooted so I can get in on this class action lawsuit...
