Using the new Droid Bionic on current 3g network?

I will be able to upgrade to a new phone in September and was looking at getting the new Bionic. At this time I live in Vineland NJ which is about 30 miles outside Philadelphia (which is currently listed as having 4g). As far as I know 3g is the only available network in my area at this time and I haven't be able to get any info if I could use the Bionic on my current 3g network because it's 4g. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Yes, all 4G phones (Verizon) are backwards compatible down to 2G.

Yes, VZW is capable of sending out multiple signals (2g/3g/4g) and the phones are able to connect to the "lower" signals.

Kinda of a waste in replying since others have answered but meh. You will be fine. You will just have 3g until 4g makes it out there with the bionic. 4g signals are backwards compatible to 3g. Just think of it as future proofing yourself.

Furthermore you can turn off 4G to save battery life, since the 4G tech is a battery sucker.
