    Why the GSII hype?

Ok, pretty much everything Ive heard about Samsung phones has been bad. Ive know people with the Moment and they hated it. The fascinate was laggy and slow correct? Also Ive heard that Samsung is terrible with updates.

So with all that said, yeah the SGII is very powerful but with all the issues with those other phones and Samsungs reputation how can this be as anticipated as it is? Or am I missing something about it? I mean it looks like a great phone, but even the best phone is garbage if you cant get any updates for it.

The hype is that, it's a new phone. There's always going to be hype around a new phone and the matter of whether it's good or bad is personal opinion. Droid 3 drops in a matter of weeks and i guarantee you there will be multiple threads about that.

I'm not a fan of Samsung's UI, which is why I don't buy it, but a couple of my friends have Samsung Android phones and they're pretty good overall to me. Snappy, great looking screen, and fairly light among the smartphones out there. Many complain about how "plastic" the phone feels but I think they're pretty good quality and they're pretty darn good looking in the aesthetics.

And about the updates, yes Samsung seems to take its time, but why not just enjoy the phone for what it is? The phone industry is picking up speed, at least in the hardware department, and the software seems to be a bit lagging, but hey it is what it is. I've still got an Incredible and I can see you've still got a Droid 2. Droid 3 drops in a matter of weeks, are you going to switch over just cause of the specs? I'm not, i'm still more than happy with my Incredible, save for the battery life, but that's it.

I'm not picking on you or calling you out, but for some reason many people can't be happy with what they have, which is quite sad imo. In today's market, if you buy a phone, consider it "old" within 2 weeks, which pretty much goes for any new technology that comes out now a days. Enjoy your device for what it is so you can truly appreciate what you own. Just my 2 cents about that subject.

Cuz it will be the best phone in the world! Only if its 3g though because then I can upgrade and not pay 50 bucks for 5 gigs.

I actually just got my D2. I bought it used to switch from a BB and I love it. For me this was the plan all a long, use the D2 and have fun with it until something comes out that I really want. So thats all. I dont have to upgrade and I dont know when I will.
