Is Verizon getting rid of unlimited mobile data plans?

Is this only for new signing customers? What about people who already have a contact with Verizon, will the unlimited get curbed or remain?

Everything is just speculation at this point. Verizon keeps hinting at moving to tiered plans. It would almost definitely affect all new subscriptions. It would almost definitely not affect people in a current contract (since Verizon could be sued for breach of contract). After that, who knows? Will you be forced to go tiered when your contract ends or can you stay month-to-month on your old contract? What about when you get a new phone? Will you be able to switch it and continue to use it under the terms of the old contract? A lot of this will be wait-and-see.

Seeing as how there is a huge sign at the local VZW store "UNLIMITED DATA ONLY $29.99". I don't think it is going anywhere soon.
I think all the speculation is just that: speculation. Since ATT went with tired pricing, everyone expects Big Red to do the same.
It would make sense for VZW not to, though. Great marketing point: "Why would you get a smartphone with ATT when we have all-you-can-eat data for just $30?"
