Droid 2 A955 Keyboard in Droid A855

Im new to the forum and I was wondering if a droid 2 oem keyboard would work in a droid 1. I found a place that sells them for 6 bucks. OEM Motorola Droid 2 Keyboard/Keypad Replacement - QWERTY

My keyboard is kind of mis-shaped now from over use and the two keyboards look similar so it should work.

there was a thread about this awhile back but not sure if it was a successful "operation".

I can't find it, but It must be there somewhere. Hopefully it works, because everytime I press a key it makes this weird crackling noise, and the keys are all bubbled up now.

No, the experiment did not work. Something about the ribbons I believe.

For a while, I worked in a shop that did repairs on the Motorola Droid phones, as well as several other brands of android phones. The contacts under the keypad are not the same on the 855 and the 955 or 956. So, upgrading the keypad is not possible.
