Simultaneous Voice and Data over 3g

I am reading today that the HTC Thunderbolt will support simultaneous voice and data over Verizon's CMDA 3g network, though Verizon claims the experience is not good enough for it to be broadcast openly.

My question is...can(will?) the super developers we have, allow the OG Droid to use this new feature?

i believe it has something to do with the hardware for that, radio card(proper terminology?)?

doubt any current devices would have an "upgrade" to use that kind of feature either

Correct, this has to do with the TBolt's hardware.

That is very sad indeed. My Droid has been through so much and manages to survive and run with the best of them...but it looks like I may have to move on...Verizon needs a Google experience 4g dual core phone, with NFC.

I believe you can do simultaneous voice+data if you have a WiFi connection as well.
