    Future for Droid1?

As a thought the D1 got every new android version thru root and not root. But are devs really up to the task of porting 3.0 and up to our ageing phone or what. Asking cause I'm trying to determine my new phone

I think that since the D1 is past its EOL most developers are moving towards other devices.

Just my personal thought, I may be wrong....

It's certainly getting to be time to consider some newer phones. My Droid 1 is 16 months old now. That's about 68 in "Cell Phone Years"!!!

The devs will move on soon. I will say however that if development for the D1 stopped right now, you'd still have a very functional phone for a long time yet.

the ship has sailed. I wouldn't expect any more support from motorola or verizon for the og droid, but its far from obsolete.

thankfully, it enjoys a healthy dose of support from the community. I finally rooted my phone, and running sourcery 2.2, and its like a whole new phone to me. I'm perfectly happy with my droid until it really does become obsolete.

There is probably going to be a developer or two up to the challenge!

    Just my opinion though

My question would be why would I consider other phones when my overclocked droid benchmarks faster or close to new phones?

Yeah but what happens to the overclock droid when a possiblitiy of a phone that can be hacked like the droid dual core running honeycomb. I would enjoy some honeycomb right now. But a phone can't be obsolete till it is cut off entirely from cdma or wifi
Edit. Or even other cell networks trying not to be biased is all
