Alright, seeing all the hate for moto, which phone should i get? a galaxy phone? or an HTC or something?
I've posted this a couple of times on this board but Ill say it again. I was in a similar situation a couple of weeks ago when my d1 broke. I too am waiting for the new better phones that are coming out soon. What you should do is check craigslist and get yourself a nice phone like a d2 (like i did) or X or something cheap. That will hold you off until the new phones come out. Then when they do, sell the d2 or X, and use that money to get your new phone. That way you always have a nice phone, and the waiting won't be such a chore. And you don't waste your verizon upgrade this way.
Thunderbolt looks promising. Also my friend has the HTC incredible and its pretty nice and has roms. My next is an incredible or thunderbolt based on if 4g phones will require a more expensive plan. Samsung is having update problems now I believe.

Wait for the Bionic or get an X. And harass Moto about their bootloader locking ways, see sig.

Harassing Motorola about their bootloader is pointless. They do not appear to have any real motivation to stop doing what they're doing, unless their game changes to offering to provide an unlock code - for a price. That then moves into the area of extortion: "Pay us the money we want, or we'll break your phone."
Like I said, spend your money on a good phone (the HTC Thunderbolt) and reward a company who doesn't lay booby-traps for unwary users who try and fail to root their phone.

Actually, I'm not a developer - but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.
People people, moto said last week they are working to develop a more open developer based phone so stop the unfounded hate. The comment about the locked bootloader was retracted and does not state motorolas current view, sheesh
