Another bump to keep this alive. Would like to see a Netflix app.

There's one in the works....
A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.

I can watch netflix on my droid
Here is the formula
Get yourself a blu-ray that can play netflix
Buy a Slingbox
Buy the slingbox app
Hook everything up
Watch Netflix![]()
jfe,
I appreciate the info, but I would like to be able to watch Netflix away from home.
Yeah, what if you don't have a home?
How does the slingbox prevent you from watching netflix away from home?
Where you go is the slingbox blocked?
Let me not joke for a minute:
1) Silverlight is apparently coming to Android so it might work with neftlix.com: http://www.google.com/q=silverlight+on+android
2) slingbox is the way to do it now
3) netflix is apparently working on an app to do it too
Silverlight on Android? Sweet...
Anyone notice the new NFL app? A rather scary warning about data usage and charges (I assume this is intended for unlimited plans). But I'm guessing you'll have to pay a VZW premium to stream certain NFL content (like the supposed live Thurs and Sun night games, can't imagine NFL is going to give that to us for free, anyway).
I suspect they go the same way with Netflix...App will only be available to stream movies if you go through some VZW special subscription (like Vcast).
That's one way to keep data unlimited while preventing people going crazy with video/flash content, or paying for it if they want to rack up the usage. Just pray they don't ever do that with Pandora and other streaming music apps!
Anyway, I have little interest in streaming movies....WHY can't they figure out how to let you d/l a "rental" for 24 hours (preferably a week) to watch offline? Because when I most likely want to watch a movie away from my bluray and bigscreen I'm probably on an airplane.

hopefully Netflix will eventually come out with their own app for Android. That would be the easiest way. They have apps for PS3, Xbox and Wii. iPhone I don't know but maybe soon they'll get one for the Droids.....after all, we are Droids! lol
Droooiiiiddddd.....
