    GingerBread(2.3)?

    I've seen some forums on the internet about it being for rooted phones?
    Is it going to be for non-rooted users too?
    and will it just be an automatic update available on my phone when the software is actually available?

    What you saw is likely that some devs have gotten the 2.3 code and put out a gingerbread rom for rooted phones. 2.3 will come out for non-rooted eventually and I am 99% sure it will be an OTA update, tho u can probably find the update on the internet and get it sooner since the ota will happen in waves and not all at once.
