Could it be that HTC has updated thier UI. Maybe the Passion will get this update before it's released to the public. Article seen here.

"Among the seemingly thousands of Android-powered HTC handsets rumored for the first half of 2010"
Good point by the article. Quality control? It's never been a problem before but when a company releases that amount of phones one should be cautious in choosing which one because if there are any issues HTC can simple say well we have another phone for you.
Yet another HTC skin effort to make it more iPhone-ish... and then everyone will blame ANDROID for it being laggy.
As HTC and Motorola have both said... there is only a limited number of keyboard/screen combinations... the fact that HTC seems to want to release a phone with every single one of them, I do not believe will affect the quality control.
Now the fact that other than the HD2 (and the as yet mythical Passion that nobody has actually road tested yet) that HTC has a habit of making handsets that are affordable but yet tend to have a corner or two cut is much more of a concern to me going forward.
It was fine when they did this with WinMo, in the sense that everybody else did the same in order to make handsets "affordable." But the game has changed... The iPhone and the Droid have both shown that you can have a handset without the corners cut and still be priced where people will buy it.
Yes there is still a market for the downline phones (such as the Eris), but like I said, this seems to be where the majority of HTC devices go... and these are the same devices that run these skins... adding to the lag.
Now, I could be wrong, and I would love to see HTC step up a bit more often with their handsets... a skin alone does not make the phone.
I agree, the iphone-esh icons need to go. I think that they looked better before. Oh well, just further solidify's my choice in the droid.
