Stupid question bout tethering

I'm like 98% sure about this already, just wanted to have some backup to prove myself. But, no matter if you are rooted or not, you are still limited to the amount of data your contract allows, yes?

This is a touchy subject here for some reason. The plan you get with your Droid is unlimited when used on your phone, but cannot be used for an external device. Tethering will be okay, just don't go overboard like I've read some people here have.

ok, so it is unlimited via cell phone, but limited with external devices. Thanks, that explains a lot. I have dsl, and nothing short of a hurricane knocks it out lol. But it would be nice to have my droid tethered for laptop use occasionally.

That's because Verizon's TOS prohibits tethering without a data plan that allows for tethering (which doesn't exist for the Droid).

Personally i use it occasionally but don't use it as as my main internet service
