    Excellent new from Google!

Exclusive: Android Froyo to take a serious shot at stemming platform fragmentation -- Engadget

Looks like Google has heard the masses and looks to end it. Froyo will be the great uniter and Gingerbread will be the man that no one can catch. WOOT!
OG Droid w/ Pete's GPA16 w/ stock Kernel using auto OC script. (retired)

    LG G2X w/ rooted 2.3.3 leak.

It's OK for your Droid to be different. Just be supportive and reassuring and it will do just fine. It's when you or other people point at it or mock it for being different is when its' feelings get hurt. Just show it unconditional love regardless of its' differences and it will in turn reciprocate that love and loyalty.

That'd be cool. I've been wondering if Google might be able to do something like that so that there would be unity in the Android OS. That way, devs would be more apt to producing apps for our devices since more people would be able to use them.

What I find interesting is that it really doesn't apply to the Droid.

We have essentially android, nothing on top of that.

Which is why the 2.1 thing bothers to no avail.

It applies to all Android devices. Nothing on top of that? Seeing that the OS is essentially hardware agnostic who cares if it applies to a specific device? It is great to know that starting with Froyo everyone with an Android based device will begin to have a more enjoyable user experience. No more versionitis so to speak.
