if i buy another android phone do i have to re-buy apps?

I was looking to get my brother an N1 phone and I already have bought a few apps like beautiful widgets and the calendar app. So on his phone would I need to re buy them?

It would be going to a different phone number, so my guess is yes you would have to purchase the apps for that phone separately even if the account is in the same name.

    I don't think so.

Apps are linked to the Gmail account under which they are purchased. All market history seems to be tied to the account.

Yes, it's not your phone- why would you think he could get the apps for free?

I'd suggest reading the post and not just the thread title.

No, you cannot. Different account, different person, can't share app purchases.

I suggest you read further than the first post and read what I said.

If he is decidingly using a different Gmail account, than no kidding it won't work. Or maybe you could read the post just above yours.

Why would I think so? Because I would use my gmail account on the marketplace

Whether or not its possible, its unethical and shouldn't be done. If you were asking about if you'd have to rebuy them on a new phone for yourself that'd be a different question.

What you're talking about doing is software piracy. If your brother wants the apps let him pay for them himself

Big +1. The people that made those apps deserve to be paid.
