Razr Maxx or SGS3?

Getting ready to drop kick my dinosaur service with Sprint and switch to Verizon.

I'm torn between the two phones I've mentioned above. I love what I've read about the Razr's battery life and have had great reception with every Moto phone I've ever had since my magenta Razr with T-Mo in 2005 (currently using the Moto Photon).

At the same time, I'm liking the features the S3 is advertising (S-Beam, camera, split screen function, etc.). I'm hesitant to go with the S3 for the fact that my history with cell reception with Samsung products has been the opposite of Motorola.

Any and all suggestions/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Split screen? I do know that I'm using stock .230 ics leak on my bionic and i can watch videos and do anything else i want on the phone using mobo player. I haven't tried it on my wife's RAZR yet.

Not sure if it's the same thing... But I'd either get the s3 or wait for more info on the RAZR hd

Ok, I can't speak for Samsung's S3, first off because I don't own one, but I've seen concerns regarding battery life and reception - your two main concerns, it seems.

I own the MAXX and my wife has the RAZR. I can tell you that right now I'm at 15% battery after over 39 hours since charge (see below). This was with light use, over 3 1/4 hours screen time and some 42 minutes in calls. I can easily get through a full day's heavy use. I never drop a call...never, and call quality is as good as it gets. I am running 4G, Bluetooth & GPS 24/7, and WiFi are nearly 24/7 as well.

There are tremendous support staff here in our Super Mods, Mods & Rescue Squad, and especially for the RAZRs is exceptionally strong. That said, the S3 is a remarkable device and does have its merits over the MAXX in regard to perhaps the things you mention, as well as faster processor, higher resolution and larger screen, more fluid screen (though I think Jelly Bean and Butter with level that field somewhat), and some other points I'm skipping unintentionally. It all comes down to what's important to you personally. Sbeam doesn't excite me, NFC can be had with a replaced MicroSD card, and although the camera may be better, I've not been disappointed with the RAZR MAXX's camera. It's a phone, after all. If I need high quality photo images, I have an SLR for that purpose. Split screen? If for being able to watch video while still working on something else, I can do much the same thing with a floating video player app I've installed. Otherwise, I believe the advantages to the S3 may all be overcome by an upgrade to Jelly Bean, and/or additional apps/mods/flashing of new ROMs.

I feel the build quality of the RAZRs is second to none. There are always going to be failures, both hardware and software, but in the end problems you read about are the exception to the rule, not indicative of the typical user experience. Finally, most of, if not nearly all of the problems experienced by members have been attributed to one of the following;

software conflicts,
settings errors,
rogue apps,
corrupted upgrades,
user error,
charging anomalies,
extreme use,
unrealistic expectations,

...or a combination of two or more of the above factors.

Go into a vzw store and hold them both and see which one feels better in the hand. I personally prefer the strength of the maxx versus the plasticy feel of the s3. With the razr m supposedly being released soon I would wait for it since it has specs more closely resembling the s3.
