OFFICIAL: 2.1 to release this week on the Motorola Droid

Interestingly Swype doesnt play with Buzz.... you have to use the Physical Keyboard. I haven't used it for a while. To my shock I was pretty fast on it and it was nice not having to correct errors or choose words. I may be using it more often.

Quick question... I bet I read it somewhere and with all the random topics here I am not sure where do start... but are we sure that 2.1 is coming out on the 10th? if so why?

Anyone hear anything about going from 3 screens to 5?

I have heard people say it will and others say it wont have more screens.

Google's Android 2.1: How It'll Change Your Phone » Daemon News - Best Software Review This site says it will have 5 screens but it also says it will have live wallpapers and we know that isnt true. I didnt take the time to see what their source is. If you want more home screens just download the app Home++ from the market.

The source article merely talks about android 2.1 in the SDK so it does not necessarily mean that all phones will have these features

As someone who prefers mostly the stock apps, seems like this update could bring a lot of good things. Was just thinking the media player could be better today. If the speech to text recognition is any good that could be a HUGE deal. An enlarged stock keyboard is one thing i really wanted too so hope that is true as well.

I have the Media Player APK and it's not all that different. If they improve the speech to text that would be nice.
