You honestly believe Moto is gonna update the Droid till the end of time, even when they have 2 new Android phones coming out in the near future? I don't know man. I give it one year of little updates/bug fixes and that's it. But hell I could be wrong, you could be wrong. We are just guessing right now.

No, but I seriously doubt they would stop supporting their best smart phone to date, four months after its release.

So, how much are you willing to bet on it, since you seem so adamant about your lack of faith in Moto.

You can turn off auto rotate in settings.

No unfortunately this does not work when running bugless beauty. Or sholes from what i have read

Some notes about the release....

Supposedly Google Goggles will be installed (what a piece of **** app) no matter what.

The only thing I wonder is...with the browser supposedly going multitouch, the news and weather widgets...should be less buggy things that have to go into ROMs once they crack 2.1. That is good news.

Almost absolutely, it will. At least until someone hacks 2.1 which probably won't be long. But assuming that you could unroot install the OTA and then decide you want to re-root in the same night is probably not a good idea.

I have a friend back home who has a stock Droid. If the update comes this week, I will be able to compare mine (Sholes 2.0.2 OC to 800Mhz) to his when I drive back for the weekend.

I have complete faith that they will have 2.1 rooted within days.

So I'd rather get the update and then overclock it.
