Root help PLEASE!

Ok so i have a myTouch 4g running Android v2.2.1 and I'm trying to root it, but my issue is that I don't have an sd card or a usb cable to connect to my pc. I was wondering if there is any way to manually root the phone without either of these things. I belive if i can find a way to download files [i.e. superoneclick] from the internet and store them directly to my phone's internal memory that would solve my problem but i haven't been able to do this maily b.c of lack of knowledge. If anyone knows of any way that i can root this phone without an sd card or a usb cable u would GREATLY appreciate it.

p.s. my ultimate goal is to install linux on the phone so if anyone knows of a way to do this without being root that would help too.
