Apps requesting way too many permissions

    Apps requesting way too many permissions

    I've been noticing lately that android apps are requesting permissions that they really shouldn't need (Contact Data, etc...) and I just don't understand why. The latest is QuickOffice Pro (read SMS, Personal Info). I'm sure there is nothing underhanded going on, at least with this app, but what the heck?

    can anyone shed some light on this? I have around 10 apps that I refuse to update because the newer versions of them seem to want complete control of my phone :/
