Assigning file Extensions on Android Phone (Not Change)

    Hey all,

I need to know how to tell the phone how to handle file types that it does not know.

An example. I get a file.cpp as an attachment in an email. The phone does not know it is a text file.

How would I tell the phone to use the text reader to open the file?

Please only post if you know how to do this and please post precise steps.

If this post is in the wrong place please let me know.

    Thanks

Don't know how to assign extensions to apps. But you might try saving the file and then seeing if any of the text editors in the market will open it. Also, check out the text editor/viewer in the app Root Explorer.

    Sorry I couldn't help.
