Delete from Droid email but not gmail?

Just got a new Charge on Friday, had BB before.

What I want is to delete emails on my Droid, but leave them on the Gmail server. I have looked under account settings and as far as Sync goes the only options are 50/100/200, but not none.

Also under accounts & Sync settings>manage accounts it says sync is off.

but if I move emails to the trash or delete them it does the same in my Gmail account. This was not the case with my BB, can anyone help?

As always: if the stock app doesn't meet your needs then find another app that has the feature you're looking for. Not all email apps allow deletions on the device without deleting on the server. I'd suggest posting in the Apps forum instead of this one.

POP accounts, of course, don't sync. You could set up your gmail account as POP though that has its own caveats.

Lots of things are like that. There's no BIS equivalent for Android, for example. Don't assume that Android works like your BB did.

Yea I know not all devices are the same, good thing we (humans) are adaptable.
