Need assistance...
I need to edit a video that I recorded on my droid. I have not been successful in finding a free software that I can use to edit it. Windows Movie maker doesn't recognize the file type and neither does Ulead. So I was looking for a software to convert it to either wmv or something acceptable. Can anyone give me some advice or assistance? Thank you.

Umm if you can find a paid version you could always just go onto 4shared and download it for free... Youd need to download astro first and allow unknown sources

re:
What do you mean by download astro? Where would I find that?
-
Astro is just a file management app. That can be downloaded from the market it will not do any video editing. What is the file ext. For droid video? Maybe I could do some research for you. And try to find a program for converting it.

3G2 Converter--Convert 3G2 to AVI, MP4, MPEG, WMV, MOV, SWF, RM,etc
This is just one site of many. If you do a Google search for 3g2 converter you should find many options.

under detail for the video it says its an mp4. But when I uploaded it to my computer the file extension was lnv (i hope I have that right). When I get home I can double check and tell you what it was.

I have a D1 and mine is .3g2 and the link for a converter for that is above. I will look into the .lnv ext.
-
Closest thing I found to .lnv was .lnk which is a short cut extension for opening files with different programs in Windows but was not able to find any info on .lnv sorry
-
BigZig its actually .lnk that it saved as on my computer and I couldn't find a converter for that kind of ext.

.lnk is generally just a link file which is pointing to a file saved in another location on your pc. If you right click it (assuming windows) and go to properties it should tell you where it is.
i've never seen .lnk to mean anything else myself although maybe its possible.
