I used the iphone setting, I think I did the video bit rate at 1500kps, no other changes, ripped an episode of 24 and sent it to somebody with a Droid, they said it looked amazing.

    Can't wait to get mine

I'm on a Windows platform, but that won't make any difference for your Handbrake settings of course. I've done quite a bit of experimenting (and with several other applications as well), and here's what I've found to work great (with no syncing problems whatsoever and excellent/smooth video quality:

    Handbrake settings for Motorola Droid:

    Picture settings:

    Crop: Automatic
    Size: Anamorphic: None, Width/Height: 854 x 480

    Video:

Video Codec: MPEG-4 (FFmpeg), Framerate (FPS): 24
    Quality: Average Bitrate (kbps): 768

Everything set to default. I should note that these settings work best for 16:9 wide screen movies, and as far as bitrate is concerned, 768 works beautifully when viewed on the Droid. I have found this setting to provide a great balance between video quality (excellent) with no syncing issues and file size.

I just wish Handbrake had video effects for adjusting saturation, hue, brightness and contrast.

    Hope this helps.

By the way, the 854 x 480 forces the default player on the Droid to play the video in full screen.

You have to set the Anamorphic to None.
