K9 shows old messages first when opened

Whenever I open k9 it send to show older messages for a second or two before updating with new messages. I wouldn't really think this was a problem but if I close and open again, it does it again, with the same exact messages. The new messages only show at the top of the list after additional messages are received.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to stop it?
